A De Hoop Wedding

Brides and Grooms juggle an enormous amount leading up to their weddings. First off, there’s the information overload – venue choices, catering options, will the photographer capture our us-ness, will the décor represent our tastes? What about the cake! AND THE DRESS. Thankfully, the team at De Hoop Collection Weddings are there to ease your burden, and help you put your own stamp on your magical day.

What are the venue options available to couples at De Hoop Collection?
At De Hoop, weddings and receptions under our Fig Tree in the main Opstal area are extremely popular. The beauty of the tree means that it doesn’t require a lot to make it look magical – think fairy lights and lanterns through the branches, and a checkered dance floor to celebrate the night away.  Brides also enjoy getting ready in our Opstal Manor House, which brings its own romance to the day with the warm wood décor, and large four-poster bed.  To think of all the things that house has witnessed in its time (dating back to around 1850) and how many beautiful brides it has seen, not to mention bridal parties and glowing family members.

Wedding ceremonies alongside the 19km Vlei are lovely and scenic, and another picturesque outdoor option.  Couples can also choose to have the ceremony there, and the reception under the Fig Tree, making the most of the outdoor options.

The Cloete Room, centrally located, is a white-washed and reed-roofed room ideal for protection against nature’s elements should an indoor wedding be a necessity. There’s always a Plan B to be made, while guests still enjoy the thrill of a Nature Reserve Wedding.

A Nature Reserve is off the beaten track, does that mean my guests will have to travel far to their accommodation after the wedding?
Not at all. De Hoop Collection can accommodate up to 160 guests in a range of accommodation options from rondawels to self-catering cottages, or fully catered suites.  Our on-site restaurant, provides guests with a fuss-free option should they arrive before, or stay after the wedding. We arrange a pre-wedding dinner for all the guests before the wedding day, which is a fun way to connect and spend time together – especially with friends and families travelling from across South Africa, or the world.

Does De Hoop work with other vendors?
We work closely with a number of key vendors who have assisted us in hosting many a successful, and gorgeous wedding at De Hoop, so for bridges and grooms wanting advise on caterers (we recommend Antoinette Events), or photographers (These pics are courtesy of Dreampixweddings.co.za – they have captured some stunning moments at De Hoop), we’re always happy to make suggestions.
