Father’s Day 2018
June 15, 2018 @ 2:00 pm - June 17, 2018 @ 10:00 am
Father’s Day comes around once a year and provides the perfect excuse to spoil your dad and show him just how much you appreciate him. This year you can treat him to something really special and different – head off to the De Hoop Nature Reserve for the De Hoop Collection’s Father’s Day Weekend – 16 and 17 June
There are heaps of activities available – Dad, with his family, can enjoy a guided Bird Walk along the Vlei discovering the amazing birds and fynbos, and/or a guided Marine Walk at Koppie Alleen exploring the fascinating rock pools teeming with intriguing plants and sea creatures (with a qualified guide on hand to answer all questions), and an Eco Boat cruise on the Vlei. He can order a pre-packed picnic basket to enjoy at Koppie Alleen on the dunes while watching the Southern Right Whales – a highlight of a visit to De Hoop.
TOP ACTIVITY PICK: And if your dad is the energetic type and enjoys cycling, then bring your own bikes (or you can hire from De Hoop), and join dad on a Mountain Bike ‘Nature Quest’ – with a stop along the way for hot chocolate and doughnuts – as you cycle amongst game and Fynbos, following the clues of the Nature Quest.
And don’t forget to pack in your warm jackets so you can enjoy a dinner outside – sitting around the fire in the boma where you will enjoy a bowl of hot soup and delicious potjie, followed by dessert and marshmallow toasting to make delicious smores (R250 per person – children 12 and under half price).
And if you do not want to spend the whole weekend you can book for the Father’s Day lunch on Sunday – day visitors are welcome. All activities and meals for children 12 years and under are half price.
Winter Special rates apply – take advantage of De Hoop Collection’s Winter Special rate of R1 800 per six-sleeper De Hoop Village cottage.
