Please ensure that your little ones have a hat & sunblock for the daytime activities, as well as comfy shoes and something warm for evening events.

Daytime: Nature Quest (2 hours)
A fun and educational treasure hunt where children solve riddles to find the next clue that leads them to their very own treasure. Questions involve the birds and mammals of De Hoop and will see kids exploring the De Hoop Opstal and Vlei areas. Cost: R50 per child

Daytime: Family Marine Walk (scheduled at Low Tide)
An exploration of the rocky shores and pools of De Hoop Mare Reserve where kids can draw the things they collect and see (shells, starfish, whales and other interesting marine life). Your De Hoop guide will share fun facts on things found on the beach including what’s picked up in the beach cleaning as well as the educational elements of where it comes from, and why it’s important to remove it. R100 per adult and R50 per child. Book a picnic basket for the family R295 including 4 soft drinks

Indoor activities: Easter Egg Making
Decorating and/or filling Easter eggs – R95 per child.

Evening activities: Star stories and smores under the night sky
Listen to myths about our starry constellations, and learn about true African animal stories while roasting marshmallows around the fire. R50 per child

Evening activities: Night Adventurer
Get ready for an interactive night walk with your De Hoop guide as you venture off with a UV light to look for scorpions and other creatures of the night. R50 per child

Indoor activities: Creative Nature (in case of bad weather)
Get creative with making and decorating clay model of whales and other animals found at De Hoop Nature & Marine Reserve. Smaller kids can colour in their own starfish or ostrich with their own De Hoop Collection activity book. Cost R80 per child
