De Hoop Covid-19 Protocols

For the health and safety of our gueste and our staff. 

“We want our guests to understand our commitment to cleanliness, hygiene and social distancing practice in our establishment, and that their health and safety, as well as that of our staff, is our priority.”

Our check-in procedures will be streamlined with online check-in, and protective desktop screens at reception. 

The beauty of De Hoop is that our Suites, cottages and facilities are comfortably spaced allowing for limited social contact. 

Alcohol based (70%) hand sanitizer will be readily available.

Temperature screening – this will be undertaken with our guests, and daily with our staff. This will be unobtrusive, with a high regard for personal space & comfort. 

Employee monitoring – Staff returning to work will be put through a thorough screening process and be isolated until deemed ready to engage with our guests again.

Housekeeping – enhanced sanitization and disinfection of our suites and cottages.

De Hoop Activities – Numbers will be limited to ensure limited social contact. Nature drives and vulture tours – where possible will have a maximum of 4 guests per vehicle.

Restaurant and Meals – meals will be prepared, in controlled environments, under strict hygiene standard. We will be offering a “Take-Away” service. For those eating in our restaurant, the meals will be individually plated and we will be making use of our boma for dinners under the stars. No buffets will be served. 

Dining set ups have been thoughtfully considered with tables spaced at least 2 metres apart.
